BUY BGR ENERGY FOR LONG TERM

NEW DELHI: BGR Energy said it has emerged as the lowest bidder for the tender of 11 super critical boilers floated by country's largest power producer NTPC.

The tender is for supply of 11x660 MW super-critical boilers for five thermal power projects, BGR Energy said in a statement.

"As per tender conditions of NTPC, BGR Energy would be awarded contract for three projects. The aggregate value of contract is about Rs 6,500 crore. BGR Energy has competed against BHEL and Larsen &Toubro, who are other qualified bidders," it noted.

The orders would be placed for NTPC's four projects -- Mouda (2x660 MW), Solapur (2x660 MW), Meja (2x660 MW) and Raghunathpur (2x660 MW) -- and two units of Damodar Valley Corp's 1,320 MW Raghunathpur project in West Bengal.

NTPC would place the boiler orders for two units, each at Solapur, Mouda (Maharashtra) and at Meja (Uttar Pradesh) and three units at Nabinagar (Bihar).

According to BGR Energy, the contracts would be executed over 48 months with delivery of components commencing from the tenth month.

"The contract terms include price variation clause and foreign exchange variation clause," the statement said.
